Para a banda brasiliense "Forró do Dengo", desenvolvi uma série de seis ilustrações exclusivas para estampar os uniformes dos integrantes. As ilustrações foram inspiradas diretamente em elementos característicos de Brasília, cidade natal dos músicos e capital do Brasil, criando uma conexão visual entre a identidade da banda e suas raízes culturais.
For the Brazilian band "Forró do Dengo," I developed a series of six exclusive illustrations to print on the members' uniforms. The illustrations were directly inspired by characteristic elements of Brasília, the musicians' hometown and the capital of Brazil, creating a visual connection between the band's identity and their cultural roots.
Cada ilustração representa ícones emblemáticos de Brasília, como a Catedral de Brasília, a Ponte JK, a Torre de TV Digital e o Monumento aos Candangos. Além desses monumentos, as estampas também incorporam referências tipicamente brasilienses, como os famosos azulejos de Athos Bulcão, o ipê — árvore símbolo da cidade — e o bem-te-vi, um pássaro popular na região. Notas musicais foram adicionadas às ilustrações, reforçando a ligação com o universo musical.
O estilo das ilustrações foi inspirado na xilogravura nordestina, uma referência estética tradicionalmente associada ao forró, gênero musical da banda. Esse estilo confere às estampas um toque rústico e autêntico, alinhado à sonoridade e à identidade cultural do grupo.Os uniformes foram projetados para harmonizar com a logomarca da banda e as cores predominantes de sua identidade visual: preto, branco e laranja. O resultado é um conjunto de uniformes que destaca a herança cultural de Brasília e reforça a conexão da banda com o estilo musical que representa.
Each illustration represents iconic symbols of Brasília, such as the Cathedral of Brasília, the JK Bridge, the Digital TV Tower, and the Monument to the Candangos. In addition to these monuments, the prints also incorporate typically Brasiliense references, such as the famous tiles by Athos Bulcão, the ipê — the city's symbolic tree — and the bem-te-vi, a popular bird in the region. Musical notes were added to the illustrations, reinforcing the connection with the musical universe.
The style of the illustrations was inspired by northeastern woodcut art, a traditional aesthetic reference associated with forró, the musical genre of the band. This style gives the prints a rustic and authentic touch, in line with the sound and cultural identity of the group.
The uniforms were designed to harmonize with the band's logo and the predominant colors of its visual identity: black, white, and orange. The result is a set of uniforms that highlights the cultural heritage of Brasília and reinforces the band's connection to the musical style it represents.
