As part of the hackathon "hackaBIP: Queres hackear o teu bairro?", I was part of a team that developed the project that won 2nd place entitled "Pelo Bairro", a mobile application aimed at promoting green mobility and community involvement in Lisbon neighborhoods. This project was designed to encourage residents to choose more sustainable forms of travel, such as walking, cycling, or scooters while supporting local businesses and encouraging citizen participation in improving the urban environment.
My responsibility for this project focuses on designing the interface and user experience (UI/UX), ensuring that the application is intuitive, attractive, and easy to use. Inspired by the challenges proposed by _hackaBIP, which aimed to get closer to the technological community of territorial intervention organizations and promote the use of open urban data platforms, the design of the "Pelo Bairro" application reflects a commitment to accessibility, collaboration, and sustainability.

The application interface was designed to make it easier for users to plan their trips, allowing them to select routes optimized for non-motorized traffic and discover commercial establishments, and partners that offer discounts and benefits. The color palette and visual elements were chosen to evoke a feeling of freshness, movement, and connection with nature, aligning to promote green mobility.
This experience reinforced my certainty in the importance of user-focused design solutions to solve social and environmental challenges, and I am encouraged to apply these learnings to future projects. Furthermore, this project was an incredible opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, apply my skills in UI/UX design in a real innovation context.
